Description: Overlap. printing on banner, photos 200 x 220 cm, nail polish interactive action, 2011
Childhood photos of me and my brothers were taken during one of the hardest periods for my country. Those were years after civil war (1991-1993) and currencies depreciation (in 1994). I remember those years (1990-1997) as a total misery and hunger everywhere.
visitors were asked to take nail polish and overlap the photos. As an author I didn’t participate in this process. I chose nail polish as an overlapping material, because of it’s function to make something look different from what it is. To make something beautiful and colorful on the surface Overlap lasted for two weeks and everyone could participate in it.
